The 2010 European Men’s and Mixed Pairs Bodybuilding
Championships are over. 121 bodybuilders and 5 mixed pairs
representing 35 countries were flexing their muscles in the
compulsory poses and posing routines performed on the stage of the
MECC Exhibition Center in Maastricht. Medals and titles were
distributed in 13 categories and two overall classes. Ukrainian
national team won the previous championships in Novi Sad, Serbia,
but this time Slovakian national team was unstoppable: their
athletes won 5 gold medals (double win in three categories!) and
having 136 points dominated the Best Teams’ classification, ahead of
Poland (77 points) and Czech Republic (54 points).
Slovak well-known bodybuilder, former world champion Stefan Havlik
won the title champion of the champions, as he was best athlete at
these Championships. His team-mate Tomas Tabaciar won the same title
in classic bodybuilding. The mixed pairs title went to the Ukrainian
couple: Vadym Vasylevskiy - Tetyana Mikheychyk.
Former Ms. Olympia Juliette Bergmann, who currently holds the
position of the Dutch Federation President and was a promoter of
these Championships was honored with the IFBB President’s Gold Medal.
The 2010 EBFF Electoral Congress was held in conjunction with these
Championships. Dr. Rafael Santonja of Spain was unanimously elected
for the position of the EBFF President for the next four-year term.
