HRISTOMIR HRISTOV (BULGARIA)
Hristomir
Hristov, the 2009 European and world bodybuilding “King”, lives in
Veliko Tarnovo, a Bulgarian historical city often called the “City
of the Tsars” as it was the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire.
And Hristomir, taking into account his all competitive career and
achievements, might be called the “Bodybuilding Tsar”. He won almost
all titles available in amateur bodybuilding, except the World Men’s
overall title. Maybe this year…
He began
his competitive career in 1996 and then went through four
categories, from 65 to 80 kg (at 156 cm body height!) but the best
body conditions achieved in 75 kg class. He won Balkan Championships
twice (1999 and 2003), European Championships twice (2004 and 2009 +
overall) and World Championships twice (2004 and 2009). He is short,
massive, with full and rounded muscles. When in shape, is almost
unbeatable. Recently, he said – “My plans for the next year include
the 2010 Arnold Amateur International Championships.”
